Sausalito,
CA
This was an extremely difficult Planning process responding
to adjacent neighbors’ concerns and a very difficult
site. Clearances and drainage issues were major problems
on this narrow, low-lying site. We had to develop a scheme
that was linear but avoided the railroad-car approach.
The design has Lower Level Guest quarters, Utility spaces,
and a flexible space for crafts or other hobbies. The
Entry Level has a Living Room, Kitchen, Master Bath and
circulation to an upstairs Loft intended for artwork,
music, and other interests. A major focus of the design
was to keep all the resident Family’s primary needs
on one level for future retirement. |
