We were asked to take on the challenge of a project that
had not received Planning approval after several attempts
from various offices.
After researching the earlier Staff recommendations and
PC opinions, as well as the Neighborhood comments, we
developed a new scheme. The task was to create a structure
that would serve as a Guest House for the owner in the
larger home immediately next door but would appear to
be unrelated. The approach was to maintain the scale of
the hillside as single- family in massing and also to
separate the new architecture both in style and materials
from the adjacent project. |
