This
project involved the relocation of an existing iconic
destination of the Bay Area music scene and the retrofit
of the space in its new nearby location. The Sweetwater
Saloon in Mill Valley, California has developed an historic
national reputation for the introduction of new talent
and the showcasing of established artists ranging from
Blues to Country, Jazz and Rock. Even with strong community
support, the Approvals process was complicated and involved
the renegotiation of parking allowances and operational
details of the Conditional Use Permit. The
design process involved flood proofing of the existing
base building, updating exiting and accessibility, as
well as providing structural and seismic strengthening
improvements. |
